Kolcraft Pediatric 2000 Crib Mattress - Excellent, Sturdy Baby Mattress

We have had this mattress for about 14 months and it served us well. The Kolcraft Pediatric 2000 Mattress is an infant/toddler mattress that fits standard-sized cribs and has 150 heavy-gauge steel border rods for edge support. It has a 10-year warranty.

With two non-alergenic soft sleeping layers for comfort and extra support and 10-year warranty as well as meeting flammability and phtalates standards, we felt we had a good product. It is difficult for us to evaluate the mattress since we can't sleep on it, but our son liked it.

The mattress can be wiped clean and we used moist wipes to clean it.

In my (subjective) opinion, the mattress was relatively firm, had well defined shape and seemed sturdy. I can contrast that with the mattress we had to replace it with (due to the damage to this mattress, unrelated to its use or function). The other mattress, Kolcraft Pediatric 800, was much cheaper and as a result was less firm, had less-defined shape (less rectangular with less-defined edges and corners), felt more flimsy and made more noise. It also came with a 7-year warranty instead of this mattress's 10.

Pros: Sturdy, firm, comfortable, durable, conforms to flammability and toxicity standards, can be wiped clean.
Cons: Price.

Bottom Line

As such, this Kolcraft Pediatric 2000 Mattress is more comfortable, sturdy, most likely longer-lasting and more appealing. I highly recommend it. But if you can't spend as much as what this mattress costs, check out the Kolcraft Pediatric 800.
